Samer Kadi and I debut our new weekly show where we talk about everything and nothing. This week we’ll explain why we moved to a weekly format and away from MMA reviews and previews (hint: MMA is a terrible sport and Samer spends way too much time talking about it) before talking about the NBA and video games.
Steve Cook joins the Man Cave to talk about his recently published Sports Media Hot 100 list. We’ll rundown the entire list and I’ll tell him what he got right and what he got wrong while he explains his thought process for the picks.
Hi, hello & welcome to the Sports Media Hot 100! I’m Steve Cook, and if you’re a regular Man Cave visitor you may have listened to Jeremy Lambert & myself talk about any number of topics, mostly sports related. At some point during one of these podcasts I agreed to rank the lovely ladies of sports media. It took awhile, so long that I’ve promised myself never to make one of these lists again, but here we are.
There weren’t many rules here, but one rule I kept in mind was that the people involved had to work in the United States of America. I got no beef with the lovely ladies of Canada, or Mexico, or Guam or wherever, but I don’t live there. So it’s not my area of expertise. I also noticed a tendency of other people that do these types of lists to rank people in the top 5 that I’d never heard of before reading the article and that they’d never actually seen perform on television. “So & So works for Channel 4 in Finland!” Yeah, whatever man. For all you know she hasn’t been there in ten years. I know I have some Canadian friends that will take offense to their favorites not being included, but I invite them to make their own list because they know more about the subject matter.
I know I’ll get complaints about the pictures. I’ve tried to make things fair by using photos of these women on the job. Not all of them have posed in Maxim & not all of them have swimsuit pictures available. I highly recommend Googling all of these women and finding out more if you’re unfamiliar with their work.
There’s also a lot of weather commentary in the blurbs because it was snowing and/or really cold when I put this together. Not that any of you will actually read the blurbs, I’m just explaining things in case somebody actually does.
And now, the list!
Steve Cook joins the Man Cave to talk the latest in sports. We’ll look back at the NBA All-Star weekend, where they ruined our favorite events, and come up with solutions for the future. Plus, we’ll discuss potential NBA Trade Deadline moves, USA vs. Russia, and Olympic Hockey medal round.
Thoughts on where the Oklahoma City Thunder stands at the All-Star break and potential Trade Deadline moves.
Clearing up some misconceptions that people might have about the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Samer Kadi joins the Man Cave for what was supposed to be our UFC 169 preview. Instead, we delayed talking about the event for 15 minutes and then 30 minutes and then over an hour as we talked about Martin Lawrence movies, NBA 2K14, Michael Jordan, The Grammys, and much more. Don’t worry, our UFC 169 preview is coming later this week.
In this edition of the Bachelor Pad, Deshaun Sheppard and I preview the NBA season. We’ll talk about his Los Angeles Lakers and my Oklahoma City Thunder plus give our championship picks, which we both hope are wrong. Then we’ll discuss Chris Brown and Kanye West being idiots before ranting about Team Breezy. And, as always, “Who is Chuki creeping on?” the “WTF of the week”, looking back, and what we’re looking forward to. Plus…MILEY WATCH!
