One of my favorite non-sporting events in the sporting world is quickly approaching. The NFL Draft is finally right around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited. This year is a special NFL Draft due to the overall quality of the players in the draft. Last year was a weak year for rookies. The Kansas City Chiefs ended up drafting Eric Fisher with the #1 pick last year and yet it’s highly doubtful that Fisher would even go in the top 20 of this year’s draft, that’s how loaded it is. Not only is this draft loaded with talented players, but it’s also loaded with interesting players as well. Guys like Jadeveon Clowney and Johnny Manziel already have huge followings of fans who are dying to see where these players end up, making this one of the most anticipated NFL Draft’s in sometime. Anyway, enough with the formalities. You guys know what this is all about and I’m sure you would rather be reading a mock draft than an introduction soooooo…….

DUSTIN JAMES’ 2013 COLLEGE FOOTBALL WRAP-UP!!!!!!
It’s that time of year again. The time of year when the leaves start to re-appear on trees, the sun comes out from behind the gray clouds, and football season disappears into the great abyss for another 9 months. Another fantastic season of college football has come to an end and considering I’m the resident “college football expert” (I use that term loosely) here at the “MAN CAVE”, I figured it was high time to take a look back at the season that was the 2013-14 college football season. This season was filled with lots of highs (the re-emergence of Florida State as a dominating program, Johnny Football ‘s encore act, and Auburn vs. Alabama) and lots of lows (Oregon losing to Arizona, the Florida Gators looking like a division-II team, and more), but looking back at everything, it was another successful and exciting year in the world of college football.
In this column, you will find the final standings for every team in division-I college football, how I did with my original predictions back in August (which can be read here on the MAN CAVE as well), and the players that I felt were the best players from each conference. You will also find a brief synopsis on the major conferences in college ball (sorry Mountain West, but you guys just barely missed the cut….) which is basically me just reviewing how each individual team did. Anyway, considering this column is exceptionally long and may take a while for you to read it all, let’s say we get to the goods already? Sounds good to me…….
Finally, we have reached the last day of my 2013-14 NCAA Football preview! After previewing all of the conferences in division-I football, we have reached the end. This time around, I’m previewing all the remaining conferences, which are mainly the smaller schools that no one really cares about minus fans of that actual school. Not only that, but I also have my final top 25 rankings at the end of this column which will give everyone a better idea of how I think each team will finish at the end of the year. Either way, enjoy the kickoff this weekend and may your team have much success this year, especially if their name is the “Oregon Ducks”…..
Welcome back! My name is Dustin James and I’m back once again for another rousing edition of my college football predictions for the 2013-14 season. This time around I’m tackling one of the big conferences in college football that has underachieved in serious manners these last few seasons. It seems like every year we have 2 or 3 teams out of the ACC that people predict will have big seasons and those teams go on to seriously underachieve through the course of the year. This year is no different as once again the ACC fields a competitive squad of teams with a few of them even being mentioned as legitimate National Title contenders. So, what teams in the ACC will go on to have major success this season and which teams will continue to anger their fan bases by losing games they shouldn’t lose? Read on to find out…….
Welcome back to another fantastic edition of Dustin James’ 2013-14 college football season preview! This time around, we are taking a look at a conference that is both right on the cusp of being a decent college football conference and potentially taking a step back into mediocrity along with conferences like the MAC and the Sun Belt. It seems like every year we have a team coming out of the Mountain West that is a legitimate threat to become a “BCS buster” at the end of the year. Who is that team this year? Is it the Boise State Broncos? The Fresno State Bulldogs? The San Jose State Spartans? Read on to find out…….
Here we go again everyone! Once again it’s time for another round of Dustin James’ 2013-14 NCAA football conference preview! This time around I’m previewing a brand new conference in college football, the American Athletic Conference. The AAC is a new conference comprised of teams from the Big East and Conference USA who have combined to put together a mediocre conference that will only get worse when Louisville leaves next year for the ACC. Even though the AAC will lose one of their top dogs next year, they will gain Tulsa, Tulane, East Carolina, and Navy in the upcoming seasons (oh joy). As for now though, let’s take a look at who I feel will win the inaugural season in the AAC….
Here we go again with another round of Dustin James’ 2013-14 college football season preview. This time on our plate, we have arguably the most wide-open conference out of all the big-time college football conferences, the BIG 12. There is no unanimous selection to win the BIG 12 this year and that usually makes for a fun time, especially for fans of teams that play in the conference. In my opinion, six out of the 10 teams that play in the BIG 12 (yep, do that math) have a legitimate shot at winning the conference and getting to a BCS bowl in the post-season. It should be good times once again in the BIG 12. A conference that is all offense and no defense…..
